Power To The Local Dreamer

One thing I learned about the last few years living in Patchogue Village is that, this town supports it’s artists. With its The Patchogue Arts Council, a lot of projects and events have taken place including PACMAC a multi-day, multi-venue festival encompassing (M)usic, (A)rts, and (C)inema. Home also to Plaza MAC, a Art House Cinema and media arts center one could catch the opera, ballet or latest independent movie. They also offer classes and workshops to the community.

I have always said that what I love about Patchogue, is everyone is willing to support each other. The truth is, we are all in this together and if we aren’t working our way up to something great together it simply will not happen. We are becoming role models for other towns on Long Island and that has to mean something. The community feel is alive and well in Patchogue.
Artists from all over the island seem to gravitate to our small town and it’s wonderful. I have met such a variety of people , from all walks of life many of whom, are just now identifying themselves as artists looking for community. What a wonderful discovery to make about oneself. With that I leave the reader with the following quote:

All eyes are on Patchogue, and with that we hope to set the stage for people supporting not only the arts but their dreamers as well.

“Don’t give up. Push through the droughts. Channel the inevitable disappointments into your craft. Break molds. Think. Create. And most importantly, stay alive. And in the meantime, make it about others. That seems to work. Stay strong. Live on. Power to the local dreamer.”
